Child on Child abuse
Mr Brokenshire led a number of year group assemblies last week talking to all students about child on child abuse. This form of abuse is when there is any kind of physical, sexual, emotional or financial abuse or coercive control exercised between children/young people both on and offline.
It is essential that all students understand the forms that this type of abuse can take and that downplaying certain behaviours, for example dismissing sexual harassment as “just banter”, “just having a laugh”, “part of growing up” or “boys being boys”; is unacceptable behaviours.
As part of these assemblies all students were introduced to the online reporting method ‘Incident Form’ linked on the school’s website.
