With a busy period of exams over, Year 11 students at Falmouth School could finally relax and enjoy their end of year celebrations last week with the Completion Assembly and Prom. The grind of revision was replaced with laughter, glitz and glam as students first met up for the Completion Assembly on Thursday. On what is always a great night students, staff and parents got together to look back on the journey through Falmouth School life at various photo and video memories.
The 2019 Prom took place the following night at Penmorvah Manor for the fifth consecutive year. The weather was kind once again, as the vast majority of the year group congregated to celebrate as a full year group before the extended summer break. As is always the case there were some eye-catching arrivals in various vehicles, including sports cars and a few other you may not expect! The girls brought glamour with their gowns, with the boys looking equally dapper in their suits and tuxedos.
Before heading inside for the meal, students gathered on the lawn with the stunning Falmouth backdrop for the traditional whole year group photo. After the meal students danced the night away and enjoyed the always popular photo booth, taking photos and making memories. It was the perfect way to round off the year before many return to Falmouth College in September following GCSE results day on August 22.
Deputy Headteacher Alex George said “Once again our Year 11 Prom was a fabulous occasion. Our students were a credit to the school and they evidently had a great time. As staff we were privileged to be part of their celebrations.”
