IMG_0738

It was a busy night at Falmouth School for Open Evening 2019, in spite of the horrible weather! There were with lots of happy and smiling visitors throughout the School all evening, making for a warm and friendly atmosphere. With lots of recent changes at Falmouth, it’s an exciting time for the school, with prospective parents and student flocking into the building to see what is on offer and why the future looks bright.

As visitors made their way down to the Main Hall for presentations, they were greeted by our fabulous jazz band, who sound tracked the evening. For some it was the first time experiencing some of our fantastic and most recently upgraded facilities, which now include the Welfare Hub. Guests arriving for talks were welcomed by MAT CEO Sarah Karkeek, before hearing from Headteacher Mr George, Head of Lower School Mr Hayward and the Junior Leadership Team. It was also the premiere of our fantastic new school video, which is a really lovely take on Falmouth School life through the eyes of our students.

Guests were spoilt for choice, with over 20 activities available to try in various subject areas including; English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, Languages, IT, RE, Media, Childcare, Hairdressing, Design Technology, Art, Drama, Music, Dance and PE. There were plenty of practical options on offer, including bread making, badge making, quizzes, treasure hunts, sports challenges, mind-boggling science experiments and a fancy-dress competition, that our English department took very seriously! We really appreciate everyone who made the effort to join us and all of the fantastic feedback we received.

Mr George, Headteacher said “I would like to thank all of our visitors for coming to see us here at Falmouth School. It was great to meet so many of our future prospective students and we look forward to them joining our school. Please contact us if you would like your family to have a guided tour around the school during the school hours.”
