    17th March 2023
Dear Parent(s) / Carer(s) As you are aware, Falmouth School underwent an Ofsted inspection on 7 & 8 February 2023 and I am pleased to share with you the Ofsted outcomes. I was appointed as Falmouth School’s Headteacher from 1 January 2023, and at the point of the Ofsted inspection I had served 25 school days in this role. You may ask if there is a good time for an Ofsted inspection and for Falmouth School, yes, this was a good time. Throughout January I communicated with you regularly and I held ‘The Evening with Lenka Chanter’ on 25 January so that you could meet me and get to know me. Whilst I am fully aware of the direction Falmouth School needs to take, the Ofsted inspection outcome refines the direction further and confirms the level of improvements still required.

15 March 2023 Dear Parents and Carers, I am writing to update you on the recent events that have taken place at Falmouth School so that you are fully informed, can actively engage with us and support us. World Book Day Thank you to everyone who supported World Book Day on Friday 4 March. The Junior Leadership Team raised an impressive £73.71 to support the reading resources building at Falmouth School. I commend their creative skills and their ability to produce so many complex delights. Thank you to everyone at home who supported our students to undertake this venture. It was great to see so many colleagues participate actively in this event whilst promoting the love for reading. I hope that my Mary Poppins costume keeps for next year as I hope that in 2024, all of us, as the Falmouth Family, will be able to build on this event further and create a range of exciting activities promoting creative writing, storytelling and celebrating the diverse literary genres for all of us to explore together.

Dear Parents and Carers I am sure you are aware of the recent media coverage of student protests that have taken place in schools, both nationally and in Cornwall. There has been incitement to protest, fuelled by misreporting in the media and also by false accounts created on TikTok, which have spread often incorrect messaging and mis-messaging. Regrettably, the behaviour of a few individuals has led to major disruptions in some schools and these irresponsible actions put everyone’s safety at risk.
