Welcome back to the start of the Spring Term 2016
January 7th 2016
We are delighted to welcome some new members of staff to the school this term and it is really pleasing to see the quality of applications coming in when we advertise employment vacancies at the school. The following colleagues have joined us with full time roles:
Francine Atkinson – Science
Amanda Hartley – Child Care/Health & Social Care
John Jenkins-Moore – Geography
Ross Hancock – Publicity & Communications
It was great to see so many families last night come to the launch of our new Gifted and Talented programme for Key Stage 3 that is being organised by Judy King, our Leading Practitioner for Able Students. We also have a very busy term ahead with Year 8 and Year 9 students both choosing their Key Stage 4 options this term. From September, our Key Stage 3 teaching will finish at Year 8 and Key Stage 4 will go across Years 9, 10 and 11 (it used to be just Year 10 and 11).
Many thanks to those parents who took part in the Parental Forum discussion groups about our new options procedures and also our new reporting procedures this year. Your feedback was very much appreciated.
As we are at the time of year of potentially poor weather please check the school website (www.falmouthschool.net) if the weather conditions are so poor that there may be the possibility that the school does not open. If poor weather shuts the school, this information will be posted on the front page of the website early on the morning of any closures. Please also note we have further improved our communication network by having a new twitter feed (@schoolfalmouth) that you may be interested in following.
